Time For Good

Volunteer Opportunities

Are you passionate about volunteering? So are we.

Tap into what moves you most — poverty, aging, the environment, nearly any cause you can name, really — and we’ll help you move forward.

And with your help, we’ll reach our goal of one million hours of service.

Now’s the time.

Sign up on UJA’s new volunteer platform, Time for Good, New York’s go-to place for Jewish volunteerism. Serve with us on MLK Day Weekend and celebrate how powerful we can be together. Your help is needed now more than ever.

Join thousands of Jewish New Yorkers as we gather to serve communities across New York, Long Island, and Westchester. We’ll be volunteering side by side on projects that address vital community needs.

Launching on MLK Day 2017, a National Day of Service, Time for Good makes it easy for time-starved New Yorkers to make a meaningful difference.

Let’s make this MLK Day really matter -- for ourselves and for the people we help.

Participate in our million-hour call to action. And help us kick off a year of doing good.

Individual Volunteers

Volunteers of all ages and backgrounds play a vital role at the Central Queens Y. Last year over 300 people participated in the various volunteer opportunities provided at the CQY. Some volunteers have been a part of the CQY family since their early childhood. Others are young professionals, college and high school students and parents who contribute valuable time and resources as tutors, instructors, lecturers, computer programmers, mentors, job coaches, event planners, graphic designers, and camp counselors as well as many other critical roles. These volunteers assist the CQY in delivering the highest quality of services. Opportunities are available on a long term or project basis.

All volunteers must participate in a brief training seminar.
