On Tuesday, January 3, Martin Van Buren High School in Queens Village, where CQY is running two academic improvement programs, was cited for reaching its NYC "Renewal School Program" goals in a video report on NY1 News! Congratulations to MVBHS’s A.C.E. (Achieving and Creating Excellence) and S.O.A.R. (Student Opportunities for Achievement and Readiness) program staff and participants for all their hard work and collaboration together!

A.C.E. at Martin Van Buren High School
Central Queens Y is partnering with Martin Van Buren to provide a school-based program to help improve students’ academic performance:  Achieving and Creating Excellence.  Key components of this partnership include student counseling, parent engagement and individual educational planning. S.O.A.R. Program: Student Opportunities for Achievement

E.D.G.E. at John Bowne High School
Exploring and Developing Goals through Education is a new school-based program at John Bowne High School to help improve students' academic performance. C.A.S.E. Academy at Forest Hills High School
College Access for Success & Enrichment is a new program at Forest Hills High School, made possible through a generous donation by the NYS Education Department.  CQY is partnering with FHHS  to provide school-based programming to help improve students' academic performance.  Program components include tutoring services, test preparation, and counseling services.  For more information, please contact Melissa Roy, MSW, Program Coordinator, at 718.268-3137 ext 5651 or mroy@cqy.org.

OST Programs
Through the Comprehensive After School System of NYC (COMPASS NYC) grant provided by the NYC Department of Youth and Community Development, CQY has formed partnerships with PS 165 and MS 200, as well as a CQY based middle school program.  CQY will be providing supportive services and afterschool programs for children 6-13 years of age.
