CLASSES

Move to the Groove

Shake your body and Move to the Groove – a dance fitness program that makes exercise less like gym class and more like a dance party!  Children from ages 5 to 8 on the Autism Spectrum will have the ability to twist, twirl, and tango to the music.  They'll be up and moving in a fun and playful environment, while learning safe routines and connecting with their inner dancer!

Lego Robotics

Ages 5-12

We all have a mind of a scientists and it’s up to us to figure out how we can channel it through creativity. In this Lego's robotics class, children will be able to build their own models utilizing lego bricks. This fun way of incorporating science will develop their sensory motor skills, social skills and teamwork skills as they learn to actually create the image that is in their mind.

Kitchen Wizardry     NEW!
Ages 5-8    

Wouldn't it be amazing to be a chef and a scientist all at once? Well, now you can be a wizard in the kitchen in our new Kitchen Wizardry program! Participants will engage in creating unique hands-on science experiments using food and other household items, while observing how scientific interactions are completed. Each week, classes will be both interesting and educational.

Social Time
Ages 5-8

This social skills groups offers an opportunity for youth with disabilities to practice their social skills with each other and/or typical peers on a regular basis. Whether the goals are for your child to develop play or conversation skills or participate in a group, classes are designed to meet participant’s social needs. Join us as we explore topics such as friendships, communication, social boundaries, awareness of others and assertion/choice making.

Sports Plus Soccer
Ages 5-12

Sports Plus Soccer is a program for children ages 5-12 years old on the autistic spectrum.  Perfect for those who would like to take part in a great opportunity to learn fundamental soccer skills as well as improving their motor and social skills while making new friends!  Each child will be paired up with teen buddies who provide individualized coaching while serving as mentors and friends.

SUNDAY FUNDAY EVENTS

Autumn's in the Air
Ages 5-12

Let's harvest some memories – come join us in our Sunday Funday event, Autumn's in the Air!  CQY is enjoying all the fun things that the autumn season has to offer.  From pumpkin painting to leaf pressing, and other festive activities in between, we will all be able to tune in our inner artist and create star centerpieces for Thanksgiving dinner.

Come join us for some hot chocolate and a movie! Spend the afternoon enjoying some snacks and a family favorite movie. The children will be able to curl up, relax, and indulge in some treats! Registration required in advance by 11/28/17.

Swim Programs

Just because summer is over doesn't mean you need to stop swimming.  Help your child make the most of the school year!  CQY is thrilled to offer Adaptive Swim Lessons for children with Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD) 6-12 years old.

Our program offers:

• private 1:1 instruction
• nurturing skilled instructors
• encouraging and supportive environment
• focus on water safety and swimming skills

Swim lessons are held for 3 half-hour sessions:
$60 m / $80 nm
