Prof. Mehnaz Afridi will speak on her work, the first book and film by a Muslim woman documenting the Holocaust, including interviews with Holocaust survivors and with Muslims. Dr. Afridi seeks to counter Holocaust denial among Muslims, while at the same time dispelling myths about Muslims.

Director of the Holocaust, Genocide, & Interfaith Education Center at Manhattan College, Dr. Afridi is committed to interfaith understanding and to Holocaust education. She teaches courses on Islam, Judaism, genocide studies, women and religion, and Arab and Jewish Literature. She serves on the board of the Arava Institute in Israel. Born in Pakistan, raised in Europe and the Middle East, she brings to her work a multicultural perspective.
