Hevesi Library

The Hevesi Library of the Central Queens Y is a free public library, open to the public for borrowing. The library covers all aspects of Jewish culture, including Jewish literature, children's books, Israeli literature in Hebrew and in English, Jewish history, and the Holocaust. The library also includes an outstanding international collection of Jewish films.

For over a decade, the library has hosted events with world class authors of fiction, non-fiction, and memoir, bringing to the community authors such as Amos Oz, A.B. Yehoshua, and Aharon Appelfeld, three of Israel's top authors, as well as U.S. Mideast Peace Negotiator Dennis Ross, journalist Pete Hamill, Dr. Ruth Westheimer, and Robert Meeropol (son of Julius and Ethel Rosenberg).
