Group Exercise Classes

Our Mantra Is 'Runners Are Happy People'

There is nothing like a good group to run with to reduce stress, build confidence, strengthen the heart and lungs, build powerhouse legs with increased joint stability and bone density, and burn mega-calories.  So, join our CQY community of runners for our weekly moonlight run around the lake in Flushing Meadow Park!

Cardio Circuit

Short on time?  Join us for our 30-minute conditioning class that will get your heart pumping and you moving in this fun and challenging workout.

Cardio Fit

Burn calories, increase your endurance while performing circuit style training, kickboxing, and movement to music.


These classes use the techniques of the late Joseph Pilates to increase "core strength" and develop strong elongated muscles, flexibility, power and balance. Emphasis is placed on working with good form and alignment. Instructor: Robin Budnetz, trained by Joseph Pilates himself.  We are currently offering three different Pilates classes.  Please click here for descriptions.


This workout fuses cardio interval training with drumming to provide a challenging, heart-pumping workout.

Ballet Fitness Fusion

Our series of ballet barre exercises plus traditional training moves will tighten and tone the inner and outer thighs, sculpt and shape the hips, tighten and lift the buttocks and improve your posture by adding elegant length to the spine.  In addition, you will develop the strength and muscular stability to take you into outside activity with increased energy. Join us for a great workout!  A dance background is not needed.  Instructor: Robin Budnetz.

Danza-Dance Fitness

Exciting Latin and international rhythms get you moving into a party-like atmosphere.  Increase your endurance and get in  shape!

Barbell Fitness

Our barbell training class builds strength, tones your body, and challenges you every time!


Zumba is the fastest growing Latin dance-based cardio fitness craze in the country, with people of all ages falling in love with its infectious music, easy to follow dance moves and body beautifying benefits. Get your groove on! You'll have so much fun you won't know you're working out.  Instructor: Nora Russi.

Yoga in Motion

A comprehensive and continuous flow of basic traditional yoga positions. Balance, breathing, and body awareness including therapeutic, orthopedic exercises strengthen the muscles surrounding and supporting the spine. Each session includes restorative relaxation.

Tai Chi

Known as "Meditation in Motion" this ancient Chinese art promotes serenity through gentle movements connecting both mind abnd body. Tai Chi reduces stress, improves balance, strengthens muscles, bones, and the cardiovascular system. Come learn to relax and improve your health! Water Exercise: Aquadynamics

Both adults and senior adults with any type of arthritis can benefit from this enjoyable recreational water exercise program.  Participants are led by trained personnel through a series of specially designed exercises that can provide some relief and improve joint flexibility.  Beneficial for people who  are overweight or suffering with back problems. Coming Back from Cancer

Women and men diagnosed with cancer often undergo treatment including surgery, radiation therapy and chemotherapy. In some cases, the side effects from these treatments may include pain, limited mobility, decreased strength, swelling and fatigue. In addition, feelings of isolation and loss of control can take a tremendous emotional toll.

Our theraputic exercise program will help you take the steps to develop strength, flexibility and stamina. The group class will meet weekly, plus you will have a choice between our pool and fitness room for additional once a week independent work. As your activity level increases you will regain an added sense of control and normalcy. You will be among fellow "travelers" in an emotionally supportive and understanding environment. This class is open to those during and after treatment. Medical clearance is required. For further information, please call Robin Budnetz at ext 504.
